Camaronal is a tiny village on the southwest Pacific coast of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. With a year-round population of perhaps 75 people, it is just 7 kilometers from Puerto Carrillo, which boasts one of Costa Rica’s most superb swimming beach.
The tourism hub of Samara is just 6 kilometers further northwest, and there you will find hotels, restaurants, night spots, tour outfitters, and a full complement of tourism service providers.
8 kilometers in the other direction is the upscale Punta Islita resort, famous for its amenities as well as a macaw breeding and reintroduction center.
